On the Thursday night before a Monday evening departure to Barcelona, my one and only crown on the far back lower left molar popped off while flossing my teeth. Admittedly, I was flossing with the up down method rather than the down through method. Lesson learned. Luckily, I was able to make an 8am Monday morning dentist appointment for a quick pre-flight glue job.
On the Sunday night before the Monday evening departure to Barcelona, I discovered that a recently repaired pair of vacation destined sandals still had a partially floppy sole. Good grief. This wouldn’t do. Could it be Shoegoo’d? Could I get it fixed upon arrival? Fortunately, the shoe repair place that had overlooked the flop opened at 9am the next morning. Post-dentist errand added to the agenda.
It wasn’t until I was back home – packing up the final bits and bobs – with a newly secured crown and a pair of flop-free sandals that I was struck by the hilarity of two pre-vacation emergency gluings. Teeth and feet ready to go!
Barcelona, here I come!
EDIT: a previously not re-glued part of one the soles of the the above-mentioned pair of sandals came unceremoniously unglued whilst walking around. Despite my best intentions, I ended up high-stepping a flopping shoe through Barrio Gótico and on to El Born. LOL.
